Today was kind of a dullish day. When I look back on what we did, I can't think of anything really fun. I made 3 quiches, one for us and two for our neighbors. The mom had to have a D&C, so I offered to make them dinner. They don't have any family nearby, and I know they like quiche. Merilee and I also made cake-mix cookies. I have tried to be really good and not keep cookies and ice cream at the house so that I don't overendulge. I do have those 100 calorie snacks that satisfy my chocolate cravings. Merilee and I also went on our daily walk up to the airport to see the army helicopter on display. It was one of the flying dragons during the Vietnam War, so we get to climb inside and pretend to fly, etc. I carry pepper spray just in case there are stray dogs or people but have not had to use it so far....until.....I saw a dog today and it snuck up on me. I did not even realize that it was behind me until a man yelled at the dog to stay! I looked for the spray and it was buried inside the diaper bag under the stroller. If it had been a real "attack" situation, I probably would not have been able to find it. SO, next time, I will try to be more prepared and actually have the pepper spray handy. Cara is now drinking from a sippy cup but will only drink juice and will throw a fit if I try to take it from her or help her. She sucks in juice and air and then every now and then let out a big burp. It has taken a long time to get her to even drink anything besides being breastfed. Yeah, on to weening.
Cara asleep after one of our walks.
