Contestant number one, Merilee, is sporting a "new" garage sale backpack that we LOVE, even though it is HUGE. I'm sure she will grow into it and for such a good deal, she is truly representing the frugal preschooler.
Here's our lovely Merilee with her shirt from Ross (on sale), skirt and shoes from my favorite consignment shop, and lovely long half braided hair.

This is her class! All the classes and the hallway are decorated in a jungle theme. She could hardly stand still for the picture because she was so excited to get in there and start playing.

She had a wonderful first day. She got to eat school lunch ( which sounded better than anything I would have fixed), colored pictures, and played duck-duck-goose during P.E. And that's all for Merilee...contestant number two, Cara, still has some growing up to do!!

Wow! I can't believe she's already in school. Is it hard to figure out what to do with just 1 kid again?

Glad she had a good first day! she looks so grown up! I think most kids have to grow into their backpack in pre-k so good job on the find. It looks like it will last!
