Before and After pics of kitchen and entryway

Well, I honestly thought that I had more 'before' pictures of the kitchen and entryway, but I don't. I probably didn't take pictures because I didn't like those areas before. This picture was taken as we were moving in. So, it's not the best representation but you can see how plain and dull the kitchen was.

This picture was taken right after I finished sewing my new curtains. I LOVE the fabric! It matches perfectly with my blue and white dishes. The curtain rod had to go and we still needed to shade the window somehow.

My pictures are out of order and I don't want to change it, so you will have to read on for the complete kitchen after photos. Below is our big living room window. Before it had a standard white rod and three panels. We literally tied the curtain up to let the light in and I hated it. Now there is a new rod and only two panels. The other panel went over our single living room window on the other wall. These curtains had been our "headboard" in our Cushing house as you can see herehttp://livelyluckinbills.blogspot.com/2009/03/follow-prophetdont-go-astrake.html

This is a picture of our entryway wall. Before it was bare and now it showcases our "old time photos" from Branson, MO., my wedding bouquet, and other meaningful knick knacks.

This is the new curtain I made from fabric I got from thefabricmarket.blogspot.com. It is so lovely and turned out perfectly.

Okay! Here is the kitchen after a light yellow paint on the walls, new curtain rods, and new dark bamboo blinds. LOVE!!

The picture is one that Justin's parents brought back from Holland when they lived there. Since my blue/white china dishes are also from them...it seemed appropriate to hang in here (and it matches). The tin below the picture is our new spot for the puppy food, since we feed her 3 times a day, it comes in handy to have by the back door. Before, her food sat by the door in a box:( Justin is also building me some windowsills to add more architectural charm to the room. Did I mention that the kitchen is VERY small?

The above picture is right over the sink.

I got really tired of having our cereal and other random things on top of the fridge, especially since you can see it clearly from the living room. So, I added my pretty dishes and a plant.

Sorry, I forgot to turn this picture. It just shows my lovely new stove, new rugs (my color inspiration), new towel featuring blue/white dishes with yellow stripe (perfect), and matching towel folded on top with the same print as rugs

I really do love this room now. There are plenty of things I want to change about it (we won't go there right now) but I like the homey feeling it now has.

Oh my goodness Leighanne, I LOVE it! The yellow and blue are the colors that we registered for when we got married because that was my dream kitchen color, but now we are in the process of updating our kitchen and it's going to be green and white(I think) So....I totally have some dish towels that I've saved for 5 years and would LOVE to give them to you! they would match perfectly. Congrats!!
