Holland's First Haircut

The before pictures...

The During pictures.....

I actually started the cutting process and did the initial trimming. My mom walked me through it so that I could be his official hair stylest in the future. Holland was squirming too much for grandma and getting really upset, so I handed over the scissors and let her finish up.

The After Pictures.....

He is such a big boy now. I think the experience was more traumatic than I had hoped because he was really tired and had just finished dinner. He was tired of sitting and did not want to be restrained. Oh well, like I tell my girls....sometimes beauty hurts! (referring to when I have to comb/fix their long gorgeous hair;)

If the Shoe Fits....

Or in this case, the dress! After eight years and three babies, I wanted to see if my wedding dress still fit. I was very pleasantly surprised that it fit just as well as it did eight years ago. I felt very beautiful on my wedding day. I have never been a thin person and during my first year in college, I lost a lot of weight (probably about 30-40 pounds?) So, at my "skinniest" time in life, I got to wear the most beautiful dress I could find. And let me say, it feels really good to be able to slip it on and not have to squeeze into it.

I did this without thinking to fix my hair or makeup for pictures...oops! I would love to lose some more weight but my genetics and stubborn body like to stay right where it is and if this is as good as it gets, I think I am okay with that!

Happy 8 Years!

The pictures are a little out of order, but I'm just gonna roll with it. Happy 8 year annversary!!
This gorgeous building was where we stayed for our anniversary. We got great rates and service was friendly.

We went to Souper Salad! for lunch and splurged a little on our diet.

Our room was nicely decorated/furnished and we had a microwave and fridge which keep our salad cool and our hot dogs warm. Since we checked in on a Sunday, we didn't want to go out to eat, so we just spent time at the hotel and at the pool.

Getting ready to go swim and soak in the spa.

There was a pretty fountain out front, so her is my attempt at a picture by the water.

They had such a pretty lobby and on both sides of this fireplace was a "library" where you could check out books/magazines and return them on your next stay. The fireplace was even lit with it's fake flames.

They had a pretty staircase that led to the second floor, so we would climb it to the 2nd floor and then take the other stairs to the 3rd floor (where our room was).

On Monday after we checked out we went furniture shopping in Oklahoma City. We went to the Habitat for Humanity Restore and got some ideas for when we are ready to fix up our little white house (the one that we bought together with our current house). Then we went and looked for sectionals, love seats, recliners/rocking chairs, and dining room sets. Oh to dream!! It was good to do this together without kids so we could discuss what we liked and didn't like. We agreed more than not and really enjoyed our time together.

When we went and picked the kids up from Justin's sister, she asked us if we were ready to sign up for one more year. We had such a good time that I think we can make it for another year and then hopefully happily ever after.d
